Mark Allen Johnson

MARK ALLEN JOHNSON began his career in the world of fashion and commercial photography. Soon after he mastered lighting and setup shots, he moved on to his true calling--telling real-life stories through his camera. Living by the philosophy that he can never get too close to the subject or action, Johnson made the switch from commercial to documentary photojournalism and never looked back.

Johnson's work has international appeal and regularly appears in top media around the world. Johnson, based in San Francisco, California, currently focuses on in-depth photojournalism and environmental portraits.

A journalism graduate from Cal State Northridge, Johnson was a stringer for Getty before signing on with ZUMA Press in 2004.
